We repair many makes and models of Sony televisions.   Many times, we find that common TV issues can be easily resolved with some simple diagnostics.  Here are some basic tips to save you money.  You can try before calling us for repair services.

  1. TV won't turn on
    1. Make sure it is plugged in.
    2. Try a different outlet that you know is working.
    3. Unplug the TV for 30 seconds, then plug it back in (this is a hard reset)
    4. Make sure the remote control batteries are not dead.
  2. Volume or sound is not working.
    1. Make sure that mute is not enabled - press the mute button on the remote.
    2. Make sure the batteries in the remote control are not dead.
    3. Check to see if there are any headphones plugged into the TV
    4. Some cable boxes also have sound control, make sure it is turned up and not muted.
  3. The screen is blank
    1. Check which input is being used (press the input button).
    2. Check the cable for that input
    3. Try using a different input
    4. Perhaps your cable TV provider is having issues.  See if other TVs in the home work.
